Vitamins: For Youth Health and Healing Check Out Vitamin E

Vitamin E is one of the natural antioxidants, proven to help your body fight several health problems and to fend off some of the natural signs of aging. Severe deficiencies of Vitamin E are rare, though some people may not be getting the full recommended daily allowances of many vitamins, including Vitamin E.

There are two recent advances in the understanding of Vitamin E that could ultimately impact a reduction in the tendency for some people to experience heart problems and cancer. Studies are still inconclusive and there seems to be several opinions as to the ultimate outcome of the benefits of Vitamin E to seriously impact these two major health concerns. Whether Vitamin E will ultimately become a viable treatment for those at high risk for heart disease and cancer remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, the benefits of Vitamin E as an antioxidant to help fight aging continue to be touted. Vitamin E supplements are also prescribed in some cases to help those adults at risk for developing cataracts.

Some manufacturers of cold sore medications include Vitamin E to help speed the healing process. A combination of Vitamin E and aloe vera seems to be a very popular remedy that many claim to be very effective in the treatment of severely chapped lips, cold sores and minor infections.

Two groups of people seem to be most at risk for low levels of Vitamin E in the body. Some people have trouble absorbing all fat-soluble vitamins and may show symptoms of deficiencies of several vitamins, including E. Babies who are born prematurely may also be at risk for some time following birth. Some other factors may play a role, including the tendency toward extremely poor eating habits and even some genetic disorders.

Oils tend to be high in Vitamin E with sunflower oil being near the top of that list. A single tablespoon of sunflower oil may provide up to a quarter of the daily recommended allowance for Vitamin E. Corn oil is another viable source. Peanuts, sunflower kernels and almonds are also good sources of this important vitamin.

While there are many uses and effects of sufficient daily consumption of Vitamin E, there continues to be a focus of using Vitamin E as an anti-aging agent. Nearly a decade ago, results of studies indicated that this vitamin slowed the aging process in laboratory experiments. Today, anti-aging creams and cosmetics often include Vitamin E.

Mud Packs

The nature cure practitioners at present are making increasing use of moistened earth in the treatment of diseases. The use of mud packs has been found highly beneficial and effective in the treatment of chronic inflammation caused by internal diseases, bruises, sprains, boils, and wounds. This mode of treatment is normally adopted in conjunction with a proper scheme of dietary and other natural therapies.

The advantage of mud treatment is that it is able to retain moisture and coolness for longer periods than cold water packs or compresses. The cold moisture in the mud packs relaxes the pores of the skin, draws the blood into the surface, relieves inner congestion and pain, promotes heat radiation and elimination of morbid matter.

A mud pack isprepared with clay obtained from about ten cms. below the surface of the earth, after ensuring that it does not contain any impurities such as compost or pebbles. The clay is then made into a smooth paste with warm water. This is allowed to cool and then spread on a strip of cloth, the size of which may vary according to requirements. The dimensions of the pack meant for application on the abdomen are generally 20 cms. X 10 cm.X 2.5 cm. for adults.

Mud packs have been found to be a valuable treatment of diseases relating to general weakness or nervous disorders. It can also bring down fever and is beneficial in the treatment of scarlet fever, measles and influenza. The mud pack is prescribed for swellings, eye and ear troubles, gout, rheumatism, stomach troubles, kidney and liver malfunctions, diptheria, neuralgia, sexual disorders, headache, toothache and general aches and pains. The mud bandage, after being placed on the body, should be covered with flannel or other protective material. The pack is applied for 10 to 30 minutes.

As the abdomen is the seat of most diseases, mud pack applied to this part of the body can cure many disorders including all forms of indigestion affecting the stomach and bowels. It is most effective in decreasing the external heat and breaking up the morbid matter. It also aids the inactivity of labour pains and for this purpose, the pack may be renewed every hour or two.

The mud pack is also helpful as an alternate treatment. The area under treatment is first given fomentation for five to 10 minutes until it is well heated. Mud is then applied directly to the skin for five to 15 minutes, depending upon the reaction required. Hot and cold applications are useful in relieving chronic pains, intestinal cramps and lumbago.

Alternate application helps to relieve discomfort caused by flatulence and intestinal obstructions.

It is also helpful in amoebiasis, colitis, enteritis and other inflammatory conditions of bacterial origin.

Workout and Read Why Mixing the Two is the Reason for Your Shape

People going to the health club with the latest edition of National Enquirer in hand to read while they do cardio workouts is a common sight in gyms everywhere. But despite the popularity of reading while working out, the gym is not a lounge that moves.

When performing cardio you will witness many who are simply reading, flipping through pages as if they are not doing any work at all. Their legs are moving, but if it was that easy to get rid of fat, we could sit on the sofa and do the same thing.

In order to burn fat, people need to let go of the idea of a fat-burning zone and focus on the main thing: burning as many calories as you possibly can in the shortest amount of time. In the past, people have said that you must be at 65 percent of your heart rate maximum in order to burn a high percentage of fat. It is very true that low intensity cardio does burn a higher percentage of fat than high intensity does.

The problem with this logic is that if this was the case, then when we do nothing at all, which is the lowest of low intensity of cardio, we should be burning off fat. But we all know someone who is sitting down watching television or always sitting at a desk in the office? and they are not losing weight.

That is because the low intensity cardio does not burn as many calories as high intensity cardio.

High intensity cardio is the way to go to get a new leaner look. High intensity means alternating between a pace you can only keep up for one minute and then coming back down to a lower intensity pace for two minutes and repeating this five or six times. This means that you can finish a cardio workout in as little as 15 minutes.

High intensity cardio burns calories when you are doing the actual workout and also keeps your metabolism elevated for up to 24 hours. You gain an extra 15 percent of calories burned even after you have stopped working out.

Also when you think about achieving a body that burns calories all day long, the word that comes to mind is known as resting metabolic rate. Simply this is the rate that your body burns calories while at rest. Performing low intensity cardio does nothing for your resting metabolic rate. In fact, it?s been shown that too much of low intensity cardio can actually be detrimental to you increasing your resting metabolic rate. Often many will lose muscle while going on extreme weight loss plans that are targeted to get them quick results. High intensity cardio though specifically interval training is crucial not only if you?re going to increase your resting metabolic rate. An increase in your resting metabolic rate will lead to the ultimate goal of weight loss.

So keep your magazines at home, I promise they will not go anywhere. Continue to read them while you?re working out though and your fat won?t go anywhere either. Get involved in your high intensity cardio today.

Don't Panic It's Only Asthma

An asthma attack is usually regarded as a physical experience. Sufferers often experience chest tightness, coughing, and an increased effort to breathe. Yet asthma also has an emotional component. There is the frustration of experiencing an attack and the fear of what might happen if the attack worsens.

Asthma can be a life-threatening condition. This can increase levels of anxiety, leading to panic, which in turn can trigger or worsen an asthma attack. Anxiety, resentment and despair are common emotions felt by the asthmatic.

For centuries, many people believed asthma was caused by stress or emotional disorders. This led to a stigma being attached to the condition and there grew a stereotype of the asthmatic being a weak, anxious person, forever wheezing and coughing.

Breathing is obviously tied in with emotion. We gasp with fear when we watch a scary movie, and take short breaths if we get involved in an action flick. We catch our breath if something startles us. Laughing and crying are certainly expressions of emotion and they both involve a change in our normal breathing pattern.

Being under stress can gradually tighten the airways. Sometimes people suffer their first asthma attack at a time of heightened emotion, like the death of a close relative. In these cases the person was probably already susceptible to asthma and the traumatic event and stress triggered the attack.

The beliefs of a person can also influence their asthma. Experiments have shown that asthmatics can produce and decrease asthma attacks using the power of suggestion. Just as Pavlov?s dogs salivated to the sound of a bell, asthma patients can suffer attacks if they are convinced they have inhaled an allergen even if the allergen is not present. Similarly they can experience relief if they believe they are taking a reliever drug though the substance they have taken has no medical effects. This ?placebo effect? has been noted for many conditions and situations.

This power of suggestion may explain why some people suffer a worsening of their asthma if they just see something related to their asthma trigger. It may also explain why some feel they cannot be without their inhaler.

The cause of asthma is not in the mind. It is in the genes and airways. But it seems that the mind can aggravate the condition. Research has shown that asthma attacks can be connected to panic disorder ? recurrent unexplained panic attacks. This connection seems stronger in smokers than non-smokers, and in women than in men.

It has also been found that the children of mothers prone to depression or panic attacks have an increased risk of developing asthma.

More recently researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison performed tests in which asthma patients heard various different words. They found that simply mentioning asthma related words such as ?wheeze? stimulated responses in two regions of the brain. One region is associated with emotional responses; the other is involved in obtaining information about the body's physiological condition, such as shortness of breath.

The results suggest a direct link between an emotion-processing area of the brain and the physical response to the disease. The brains of people with asthma may over-react to emotional and physiological signals, like inflammation, which in turn may affect the severity of symptoms. This may help explain why asthma attacks in response to allergens can worsen during stressful times.

This research may one day lead to drugs or behavioral interventions to control asthma. Meanwhile it is know that certain relaxation techniques and martial arts can help control asthma that is triggered by emotional events.

The Salon Manicure a Users Guide

If you are considering treating yourself to a beauty salon manicure - and why shouldn't you! - the following are the details of what you can expect to receive from a professional manicurist. Your manicure might not follow this procedure exactly, but it should be very similar. So there shouldn't be any surprises. So just go and relax and enjoy it!

Here it is - how to give a manicure - in 12 luxurious steps:

1. Remove the old nail varnish by wiping with a piece of cotton wool soaked in varnish remover. Once all the varnish has gone, rinse the fingers with clean water.

2. File the nails into the correct shape and buff to remove any little imperfections and rough edges.

3. Dampen the hands a little with water and apply a gentle exfoliator, using a massaging action. Then rinse the hands thoroughly and dry.

4. Soak the hands in soapy water, using a moisturizing cream moisturizing soap, not an astringent. Leave them in the water for about ten minutes.

5. Apply moisturizing cream to the cuticles.

6. Push back the cuticles using a hoof stick (usually a plastic stick with a rubber tip, specially designed for moulding cuticles).

7. Gently massage the cuticles and the whole hand with moisturizing hand cream until it is totally absorbed.

8. Remove excess dead skin around the cuticles and trim any hang-nails using special very tiny, but sharp, nippers.

9. Buff the nails to remove all ridges, imperfections and any unevenness.

10. Apply a rich moisturizing cream to the hands, wrists and lower arms, using a massaging action until the cream is thoroughly absorbed.

11. Then immerse the hands in a Vitamin E rich paraffin bath. This is used to open the pores and let the heat and moisture be thoroughly absorbed. This is done several times, with a short delay between each immersion, allowing the wax to build up in several layers. Once sufficient wax has built up, the hands are wrapped in some thin plastic film or plastic bags and placed into insulating mitts made from towel. After approximately ten minutes the mits and plastic are removed and the wax peeled away. The hands will be beautifully soft.

12. Finally, nail varnish is applied in the form of a base coat, then two layers of your color of choice, and a finishing protective top coat.

That's it. All over! Another perfect, luxuriating, relaxing and beautifying manicure, making you feel good all over.

How The Bird Flu Virus Lives And Spreads

Bird flu is a serious and dangerous virus. With so much controversy over this deadly disease, it is a good idea to have some kind of idea what you are up against. Knowing how the virus lives and spreads makes it easier to protect yourself from infection.

First, it should be understood that bird flu is much like the other strains of influenza. Like the flu that goes around every year, bird flu is transmitted from the exchange of the virus through droplets of saliva, mucus, or other excretions. However, bird flu is not transmitted from human contact, but through the handling or ingestion of infected poultry. It is more common for people to be impacted by bird flu that handle birds for agricultural purposes or eat infected fowl that is not properly handled.

The virus lives within poultry and survives in the feces of the animal for several days, if not weeks. Therefore, regular contact with birds, especially in dense populations, increases the possibility of contracting the disease. To avoid infection, limit contact with potentially dangerous poultry.

It should also be clear that this particular virus was not always a threat to humans. Prior to 1997, there were no known cases of H5N1, the deadly strain of bird flu, infecting humans. Since the virus first came to pass in the early 1900?s, it has mutated and transformed into a different form. This mutation is vital to the ongoing vitality of influenza and is the primary source for the concern surrounding H5N1. The virus continually manipulates itself to bypass treatment techniques and survive in varying environments.

Once the virus is transmitted to a person, it is incredibly interesting what takes place. There are two factors within the immune system that contribute to the devastation of the virus. First, the virus causes an exaggerated response in cytokines, hormones that regulate the immune system. This increase makes the immune system unstable and actually has a negative effect on the body itself, as well as making fighting infection difficult. Secondly, other aspects of the immune system are suppressed, allowing the virus to run rampant within the body.

Since the virus is not bacterial in nature, antibiotics are ineffective in treating the disease. In many illnesses, antibiotics are administered, which suppress the immune system and fight the infection; however, this is not an option due to the nature of bird flu; therefore, the most effective treatment is prevention.

Say "Goodbye" to the Dreaded Weight Loss Plateau

Dieters dread the plateau. You're on a roll, losing weight steadily and happily for weeks. Your confidence is high and your goal is in sight. Then suddenly your scale freezes. No matter how hard you try, those extra pounds just refuse to budge. You've hit a wall and you know the frustration of seeing no progress could easily lead you to gain back what you've lost. So how do you break through the plateau?

It's perfectly normal for a dieter to reach a plateau. The trick is to use it as an opportunity to double up your efforts and get really clear on your strategy to carry you through to the finish line. Below you'll find suggestions that can help you recommit to your program and re-ignite the weight-loss process when you feel challenged.

1. Get clear on your ultimate weight-loss goal.

Be sure that your weight-loss goal is realistic and that your expected rate of weight loss is reasonable. If you are on a heath enhancing, nutritionally rich weight loss program you can expect to loss one to two pounds a week. Each body has its own ideal weight and size. Don't compare yourself to anyone else, but listen to your body and notice what feels best for you. A simple way to approximate your ideal weight is by referring to a Body Mass Index chart.

2. Go high-protein, low carbs.

Unless you are eating enough protein to maintain your lean muscle mass, you are likely to have lost weight already from both your fat stores and muscle. Women need to eat approximately 100grams of protein a day and men 150 grams in order to preserve their muscle tissue during a weight loss program. If you have lost some muscle during your weight loss program so far you will need to focus on protein so your body can build muscle, which requires more calories to sustain, which will in turn, kick start your weight loss again. Needless to say, any weight loss program you choose should be one that preserves your body's muscle and this does not happen!

3. Add resistance training to your program.

A wonderful way to boost your metabolism and break through to the next level of weight loss is by incorporating aerobic exercise into your program, such as 30 minutes of walking three to four times a week. (If you are 35 years or older, or haven't exercised regularly, begin with 10 to 15 minutes two to three times a week.) In addition, weight training with free weights or machines several times a week can help increase muscle mass, which in turn allows you to burn more calories faster. Studies show that weight training can increase your metabolism overnight by five to 10 percent. Working out can increase your metabolism for up to 21 hours after an intense workout.

4. Look out for hidden carbohydrates.

If your weight loss progress seems slow, look out for carbohydrates that might be sneaking their way unnoticed into your diet. Sugar can lurk in the most unexpected places such as ketchup, salad dressings, teriyaki and barbecue sauces. Watch out too for cornstarch, sugar or milk solids in many processed foods such as gravies, or sauces on frozen vegetables. Be especially careful about low-fat foods where flavor is enhanced by sugar and other carbohydrates. Try keeping a diet journal for a couple of days of EVERYTHING you eat and drink. You may quickly discover the hidden carbs that are keeping your weight-loss progress stuck and be able to eliminate them and move past your plateau.

5. Take the refinement out of your diet.

Try eliminating all refined sugar and refined grains from your diet. This includes white bread, pastries, pasta, white rice, white flour crackers, sugar-coated breakfast cereals, cookies and cake. This simple step can encourage a huge weight-loss breakthrough and leave you feeling more healthy and energized in the process.

6. Don't go hungry.

Cutting back on how often you eat can have a negative impact on your diet plateau. Many studies show that small, frequent meals are more satisfying and produce better weight-loss results than the same number of calories consumed in three large meals. Take advantage of healthy snacking and crunch on fresh slices of raw vegetables like celery, peppers, cucumber and jicama when you're hungry.

7. Drink to burn up.

It's vitally important to replenish your fluids by drinking plenty of water on your weight loss program. An inadequate supply of water in itself can slow down your weight-loss. Carry water with you wherever you go throughout the day. For additional weight-management benefits, add a high quality aloe concentrate to your water to help keep your digestion in top shape. Also, a probiotic supplement can help us maintain a healthy intestinal flora. Keeping well hydrated not only helps you burn fat efficiently, it also helps control hunger.

8. Keep your incentive strong.

Remember the determination you felt when you first began your weight-loss program? Remember the excitement of watching the pounds drop one by one? Go back to whatever your initial motivation was and see whether it still works for you. It may have been the desire to lose weight for a particular event or to regain your figure after pregnancy. You may have been motivated by poor health or by the shock of just how much weight you had gained. See whether the same motivation still has juice for you. If not, choose a new one. Keep a picture of yourself looking great (or bad!) on your refrigerator as a daily reminder of where you are heading.

Child Body Odor: Causes and Cures

Does your child have a wet sock or locker room body smell? Normally kids need to begin using a deodorant when they are going through puberty, between the ages of 8 and 13 for girls, and ages 9 and 14 for boys. However some children have a noticeable body odor before puberty. There are some children, even as infants that produce more sweat than usual, a condition called hyperhydrosis. They are otherwise healthy except for excessive sweating.

Before you run out a purchase all kinds of deodorants and perfumes for your child, let?s first look at what causes body odor and then what can be done to combat it.

Sweat and Body Odor

Contrary to popular belief, perspiration or sweat has no smell. That?s right, sweat does not stink. The human body produces two kinds of sweat: eccrine, a clear, odorless sweat that appears all over our bodies, performing the vital role of regulating body temperature, and apocrine, a thicker substance that is produced by glands in the underarm, scalp, and groin areas. Sweat also provides natural method of removing toxins from the body.

Body odor occurs when sweat is exposed to bacteria on the skin. It is the mixture of sweat and bacteria which cause the bad smell. This occurs in places where sweat cannot evaporate easily for example the armpit or genital area.

Body Odor Prevention

The key to eliminating most body odors is to inhibit the body's production of apocrine sweat and descreasing the number of bacteria on the surface of the skin.

  • Use an antibacterial deodorant soap: Wash daily with an antibacterial soap such as Dial or Safeguard.
  • Use an acne cleanser: If antibacterial soaps don?t work try using an acne cleanser that contains benzoyl peroxide. It has strong antibacterial properties. Be careful, excessive use can cause drying and irritation. You can also try Neosporin or an antibacterial ointment.
  • Rubbing alcohol: Try rubbing alcohol, witch hazel or hydrogen peroxide for extra protection. These products help reduce the number of odor-causing bacteria.
  • Try a homemade deodorant: Mix equal parts of witch hazel, Aloe Vera and mineral water. You can also ad 1 teaspoon of glycerin along with good smelling oil. Mix it in a spray bottle and enjoy!
  • Antiperspirants: Antiperspirants are aluminum-based chemicals that block the pores of the apocrine glands and stop you from sweating. Antiperspirants may cause irritation or even contact dermatitis ? red, swollen, itchy skin, especially in young children. If you use an antiperspirant, try one that is perfume-free.
  • Deodorants: Deodorants eliminate or mask the smell of sweat by neutralizing bacteria. Deodorants do not prevent sweating, therefore, deodorants maybe reapplied during the day to prevent bacteria and bad odor from developing. Deodorants and remedies such as rubbing alcohol, antibacterial cleansers, or homemade deodorants may be less irritating to young skin than antiperspirants.
  • Bathe daily: Regular bathing helps reduce the number of bacteria on your skin.
  • Dry your feet thoroughly after bathing: Bacteria thrives in damp places such as between the toes. Use powders such as cornstarch, baking soda, or foot powders soda to help absorb moisture.
  • Wear shoes and socks made of natural materials: Shoes made of natural materials, such as leather or a mesh material can help prevent sweaty feet by allowing your feet to breathe.
  • Change socks often: Change socks once or twice a day, drying your feet
  • Wear loose clothing: Wear loose and natural fabrics, such as cotton, wool and silk, which allow your skin to breathe.
  • Odor fighting laundry detergents: Wash your clothes with an odor-fighting detergent. If necessary, change clothes or underwear during the day.
  • Eat a well balanced diet: If there are a lot of toxins in the body, they can produce a bad odor. If you eat a balanced diet, and eliminate waste efficiently, none of your excretions, including urine and feces, should have a bad odor.
Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)

For most people sweating is little else than an annoyance. Others just produce more sweat than others for no apparent reason. Whatever the reason, there are some factors may make children sweat heavily. These include:

  • Heredity: Some people have a genetic predisposition to sweat excessively.
  • Certain foods and beverages: Hot beverages and spicy foods
  • Certain types of medicines
  • Diabetes: A fruity smell may be a sign of diabetes.
  • Liver or kidney disease: An ammonia smell may be a sign of kidney or liver disease.
  • Fever: A fever can occur with many types of bacterial and viral infections. Sweating profusely is the body?s way of eliminating excess heat.
  • Overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism)
  • Certain types of cancer: Leukemia and lymphoma can produce unusual sweating patterns.
  • Metabolic Disorders: Some metabolic disorders such as Phenylketonuria (PKU) can body odor.

While in most children, body odor and sweating is not related to any medical condition, if your child has an unpleasant odor, it should be evaluated by a physician.

Tan Chin? No Energy? You May Have Iron Deficient Anemia

Sometimes I see clients with that characteristic tan mark around their cheeks and chin indicating early iron deficient anemia. When this happens the client is feeling run down, but not run down enough to cause them to go to a doctors office--yet. It?s my job to help the person supplement their diet so they don?t have to take iron pills, which can be harmful on the system?especially for iron, if a little is good, a lot is not better!

Iron supplement overdose can cause stomach pain, vomiting, diarrhea, black stools, lethargy, weakness, collapse, weak/rapid heartbeats, shallow breathing, convulsions and coma. Try getting those same symptoms from eating parsley and taking a couple teaspoons of blackstrap molasses every now and then. THAT won?t happen.

A safe preventative dose of blackstrap molasses is 1-2 teaspoons per day for a full-sized adult. Three teaspoons per day would be a maximum dosage if you have that characteristic tan on the cheeks. For children, give 1 teaspoon up to three times a week as a preventative, mineral supplement, and to give color to the face. Both parsley and blackstrap molasses are packed with minerals (including those trace minerals we need.)

Iron overload is linked to some cancers, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis and endocrine dysfunction. It is easy to overload when taking iron pills. It is much safer sticking to natural food sources for iron.

Other foods high in iron, besides blackstrap molasses and parsley include: Cherries, prunes, leafy green vegetables, poultry liver, legumes (peas/beans/lentils), eggs, fish and whole grains. If you crave these foods, it may be an indication that you are low in iron. You have to be REALLY low before it will show up on a blood test, so do your body a favor and eat more of these foods.

Herbs high in iron include alfalfa, bilberry, burdock, catnip, yellow dock root, watercress, sarsaparilla (in root beer) and nettles. I think your safest choices are nettles (also for itchy skin disease and low calcium,) catnip (also good for sleep disorders,) burdock (also a good liver cleanser,) and alfalfa (a bit over used?I see some allergic reactions with this.)

Men Want Real Women What's A Woman To Do?

Did you know Katie Couric said ?respect your wrinkles!? on NBC?s Today Show? Matt Lauer said ?confident women? are a turn-on and Al Roker agrees, ?Women look sexy when they?re just themselves, wearing jeans and a tee-shirt with less makeup.?

They were discussing a poll released by Zogby International and ladies, men don?t particularly care for the ?Barbie doll look?, rather from the 1,000 men who were surveyed, only 6% prefer Botox to wrinkles, 69% thought breast implants are not sexy and 50% want women to ditch the lipstick.

Then from Page Six, New York Post, April 26th edition, ?You Sexy Thing!? based on a new poll by Zogby International says it?s bad news for plastic surgeons because men prefer the natural look!

That?s right - What men want and what they are looking for is changing! Most men aren?t attracted to plastic, made-up women; instead, they want a natural, wholesome looking woman without the pulled, unnatural looking face most plastic surgery procedures produce, breast implants or Botox that paralyzes smiles and expressions.

Men want ?real? women who aren?t afraid to show off their God-given assets. They want women who will ?say no? to docs who want to fill them up with Restylane, Botox and other dangerous substances that can harm and possibly maim the user long-term.

So, if men don?t go for the Botox, breast enhanced implants, pulled face ?Barbie Doll? look, who are these women trying to please? Themselves? Every time you choose surgery, you choose risk! Not just risk from the procedure but also the risk that men may think you less attractive!!!

What?s a woman to do? How can a woman look and feel vibrantly younger without the ?crutches? we?ve come to rely on?

Many people have been brainwashed to believe that when they experience facial aging, there?s only one remedy - see the doc for surgery, laser, or injections. These temporary and very expensive procedures are risky; the patient believes they can buy a quick fix and then worry about the real aging later. Most patients do not realize that they?re not prolonging the aging process with these procedures; rather they?re masking aging in such a way that they will always be a slave to the next injection, a tweak here and there and most importantly, greater risk as the body compensates for foreign substances and healing requirements.

Trying to stave off Mother Nature is a very dangerous game when you try to fool her with unnatural means. After all, when one sees sagging, there are only a few options:

1) Do nothing and feel dowdy and old from your 40?s onward 2) Spend your nest egg on injections, facial plastic surgery and lasers 3) Learn how to lift your face at home with a tried and proven method that keeps you looking younger and healthier day after day with no recuperative time, risk or financial burden.

Option #3 is by far the safest alternative because you can tone and tighten your facial muscles in only a few minutes a day. These muscles will contract, giving you a fresh, young appearance and your skin will look radiant from increased oxygen. You will have the look of a face lift without the hassle, the danger to your looks or general health or the expense.

You?ll love your results ? Promise!

The Cheaper Arthritis Treatment: Improve Your Diet to Prevent or Cure Arthritis

Arthritis is often associated with people in their 50s or older. But nowadays, more and more younger people are showing signs of this joint-related disease. What exactly are the causes of joint inflammation and what are the best arthritis treatment? Inflammation of the joints can result from previous injuries, like tibial plateau fracture, which affects certain sensitive cartilages and muscle tissues. A person can also develop joint swelling and pain if two or more of his or her family members have gout or any related illness. Needless to say, age is also one of the most significant factors in determining the onset of swelling of the joints. As a person gets older, his or her bones tend to be weaker and more fragile as one of the results of the natural laws of aging. But this doesn't necessarily mean teenagers or the twenty-somethings can be complacent. There are cases of brittle joints among younger age brackets because of extraneous determinants like weight and existing illness.

It is understandable that obese or overweight persons have greater tendencies of exhausting or wearing out their bones. Since weight is identified as a factor in causing joint inflammation, doctors suggest arthritis treatment can be in the form of improving one's diet. There are specific diets, like meals heavy in unsaturated fat and cholesterol, that make a person even more susceptible in experiencing joint pain and swelling. On the other hand, foods rich in certain minerals and vitamins are one's best ally in preventing early signs of bone inflammation. Choose foods with high nutritional value and specifically contain Vitamins K and E, which promote healthier bones. To alleviate inflammation, a person should boost his or her intake of vitamins B12 and B6. If beneficial minerals like zinc and copper are not usually found on your daily meal plan, take health supplements that offer these specific nutrients.

There are also certain medications supposedly aimed at combating arthritis. Some of these drugs don't come without hazardous side effects so it is still best to follow natural remedies to prevent or cure joint inflammation. Arthritis treatment need not cost someone a fortune. The safest and surest way is still through sticking to a healthy diet, or even particular exercise routines, or whatever a doctor advised a patient to do. One should not wait to get older before he starts to take care of his bones and joints. A person may not realize the importance of bone health until he experiences the premature tell-tale signs of joint swelling and inflammation.

Home Air Cleaners Can be a Very Important Part of Our Everyday Life

Home air cleaners are becoming a popular feature in many ordinary homes, but there was a time when, it seemed, we lived quite happily without them. The increasing amount of chemical and other pollutants in our atmosphere is making home air cleaners, such as electronic and Hepa air purifiers, ever more necessary, however, and while their protection was once only used in specialised circumstances, allergy relief air purifiers are becoming more and more a part of the ordinary household.

The technology behind modern home air cleaners and electronic air purifiers dates back to the nineteenth century, when two separate groups developed equipment loosely based on similar ideas for two distinctive purposes. The Dean brothers invented a purifier to protect fire fighters, while a man named Siebe developed equipment that would supply divers with a purified air supply. Later scientists further developed these technologies, bringing us ever closer to the invention of the home air cleaners that we use today.

The Second World War lead to further developments in the technologies that were destined for the home air cleaner, as soldiers found themselves working more and more in dangerous environments that required protection from radioactive and other potentially poisonous substances. This resulted in the invention of Hepa air purifiers, which remain one of the most effective air purifiers available today.

Further disastrous developments in human history lead to even more advanced air cleaners ? outbreaks of Ebola in Africa, for example, reminded the world of the importance of clean air, and it was around this time that electronic air purifiers became available.

It seems that dangerous situations were the spur that lead ultimately to the creation of the home air cleaner. Unfortunately, we continue to live in dangerous times, and while we might not be fire fighters or divers, we still require a constant supply of clean air to survive. Home air cleaners can bring this air to us, creating healthy sanctuaries for us in this modern day world.

Home air cleaners can have a bid impact on our health.

A Woman's Guide to Waxing Unwanted Hair

It's tough to be beautiful. There's the curling, the scrubbing, the coloring, the endless work, toil and sweat. It can also be painful. What woman hasn't suffered from a too-hot curling iron or too-sharp razor? But at the top of the list we find waxing. An essential task, to be sure, but also dicey. You want to make sure it's done right, quickly and will be effective with a minimum of pain.

Waxing is a relatively simply process, really. Think wax on, wax off, and you'll likely get the idea. Hot wax is applied to the area that needs hair removal, then quickly pulled off and unwanted hairs go with the wax. It can be fairly painful, but the pain is quick and the wax process, fortunately, doesn't need to be repeated very often.

Herewith are various types of waxes, from a lesser ouch factor to a mighty ouch!

*Eyebrow (ouch factor of 2) - Eyebrow waxing is a type of waxing you can do yourself at home, though it's never a bad idea to consult a professional. If you are going to wax your eyebrows yourself, you should always wax from below the eyebrow, not above. Take very little hair off at a time, and be careful of the hot wax being so close to your face. Because the skin above the eye is so sensitive, it's really recommended you consult a professional for this task.

*Full Face (ouch factor 2) - This involves removing the facial hair you might have around the mouth, cheeks, jaw and chin. You can do this yourself, perhaps even make the wax yourself, but again, experts recommend using a professional since the facial skin is so delicate.

*Legs (ouch factor 3-4) - This is probably the method of waxing most women are familiar with. In the summer, many women choose leg waxing as the preferred method for hair removal since it is generally considered superior to shaving and saves time in those busy summer months - a good leg wax can last as long as 8 weeks.

*Bikini (ouch factor 8-10+) - The big daddy of waxing, the various types of bikini waxes are not for the faint of heart. They are for women who want clean, cool nether regions for summer, and aren't too modest, since they should only be done by a trained and experienced professional. There are a few different types:

*Bikini - The basic bikini wax involves removing the pubic hair around the bikini panty line. This is delicate territory, so it's recommended you take an ibuprofen an hour or so before getting it done. But since there are more involved bikini waxes, we'll give this one an 8 on the pain scale.

*Full bikini - This is also known as a Brazilian bikini wax and it's the latest, hottest thing in waxes. Seven Brazilian sisters brought this wax to the United States and in a short period of time, this type of wax has overtaken any other bikini wax. In short, it's a full bikini wax, where only the pubic hair just around the labia is left. Otherwise, you're bald as an eagle, which might serve you if you wear a thong in the summer or just want to change your life, which is allegedly what Brazilian wax did for Gwyneth Paltrow. This is a full 10 on the pain scale, but many women claim it's the bomb.

Treat That Oral Thrush Now!

These days there are many kinds of diseases that are just dismissed by people as if they are not important. Discoloration, spots or rashes in any part of the bodies are deemed as irregularities but are not really candidates for urgent treatment. One such occurrence that can turn into diseases is oral thrush. Some people may not even know that what they or their loved ones have is oral thrush but oral thrush and all other kinds of thrush can spread to other parts of the body not originally affected if not treated.

Oral thrush is usually described as white to cream colored or yellow spots in certain areas of the mouth. These spots are also slightly raised so it can be felt as a small bump. People who have oral thrush normally feel no pain in the area underneath the spots and might even have the urge to scratch it off. If you scrape off the said spots, they leave small wounds that bleed slightly.

The earlier description is true in most cases but for adults, thrush can also cause an uncomfortable burning sensation in the mouth and throat. Some of the causes of thrush for adults include the simple of reason to stress or an even deeper problem that is an underlying disorder.

Oral thrush treatments for infants should include a period of waiting may be appropriate. It is highly advisable to go to the doctor. During the early stages, it is not really a life and death situation but start to worry when the condition does not resolve in two weeks in which case an oral thrust treatment from a doctor will come in handy. As for preventive oral thrush treatment or tips, it is a must to always sterilize bottle nipples or pacifiers and to wash, in hot and soapy water, toys that baby frequently chews on.

On the other hand oral thrush treatments for adults though largely similar to infants have some factors that are not really applicable to infants. The older victims of thrush are capable of trying to investigate for themselves the condition that caused the thrush and do something about it. They can actually do a sort of preventive oral thrush treatments or procedures to avoid the thrush from recurring. As soon as the condition that caused the oral thrush has been treated then the thrush itself can be cured.

Oral thrush treatment usually consists of anti-fungal medicines in the form of pastilles that are sucked or oral suspensions that are held in the mouth before swallowing. If unfortunately complications occur then oral thrush treatment that is systematic should be applied. This can be in the form of dosage of anti-fungal tablets or if advanced form of oral thrush treatment is needed then maybe through injection.

As in any disease, the important thing is early detection and being pro-active about the entire case at hand. There will always be that period of observation for cases like thrush but it should not last very long. The key really is to never ever hesitate to see your doctor for oral thrush treatment. Others may think that thrush is something that over the counter drugs can cure so there is no use to go to the doctor. Then again as mentioned, in the earlier paragraphs, the doctor has to see you to assess if what you have is a plain thrush or is a manifestation of something else.

How To Lose Belly Fat With A 10 Minute Workout

Are you looking to change the shape of your body or trying to lose belly fat without joining a high priced gym? If so, try this high energized cardiovascular fitness routine that that was developed by Keli Roberts.

With this 10 minute exercise routine you can burn up to 150 calories every single day.

The first two minutes of this fat burning routine is: Jump Rope - Begin by performing two jumps for each turn of the rope. Safety: Use the correct size jump rope and always land softly on the balls of your feet (that is the upper part of the bottom of your foot). Keep thinking I am losing weight.

Minutes two to three: Squat Thrust into a Push Up. The proper technique for this exercise is to stand with your feet shoulder width apart and your arms strait down next to your sides. Slowly squat down with your head forward and bring your hands to the floor just outside of your feet. Your hands should be pointing forward as well. Then in one movement, push your legs back and out behind you (into a pushup position). Perform one strict pushup and then jump back into your squat position and then stand back up. Keep thinking, the fat is vanishing.

Minutes three to four: Jump Rope with only one jump per turn. Keep thinking, The fat is melting away.

Minutes four to five: Back to the Squat Thrust and Push Up only this time you are going to add the Side Plank. After completing your squat thrust and push up, you are going to lift and rotate your left arm off of the ground and over your head. Your left foot will rotate and rest on top of you right foot. And you will rotate your neck so you are looking up at your ceiling. Rotate back to the center and repeat on the other side. When finished, hop back into your squat position, stand up and start again. Keep thinking, no more belly.

Minutes five and six: Jump Rope. Same as minutes three and four. keep thinking, I am losing body fat.

Minutes six and seven: Back to the Squat Thrust and Push Up only this time you are going to add the Leg Lift. This is the same as minutes two and three only this time you will lift the toes of one foot about twelve inches off of the ground only after you have performed your push up. Lower your foot and repeat on the other side. Hop back up to your squat position, stand up, and start again. Keep thinking, goodbye belly.

Minutes seven and eight: Jump Rope. Same as minutes three and four. Keep thinking, my belly is getting smaller.

Minutes eight and nine: Back to the Squat Thrust and Push Up only this time you are going to add Mountain Climbers. Repeat everything as in minutes two and three only this time after your push up, you will quickly jog in place from your push up position. Make sure you bring your knees up to your chest on each rotation. Perform 5 jogs and repeat this entire process. Keep thinking, I am going to lose weight.

Minutes nine and ten: Jump Rope. Same as you first two minutes. Keep thinking. If I do this everyday, I will lose belly fat. Good luck to everyone.

We recommend using a soft padding such as a yoga mat when performing this exercise. This will cut down on any injury and save some of those knee joints for you. If you need more information on gym mats and yoga mats, please visit Ultimate Fitness Equipment - for all of your fitness needs.
